Kininvie 17 Year Old Review

Mr Whiteheads Boxing Dog I've had this bottle sitting in the house since my 40th last May and opened it recently, this is the travel retail exclusive Expression from a distillery only opened in 1990.

I've tried this previously along with the 23 year old but without taking notes on either of them.

This is a fabulous sweet and fruity dram, pears (including pear skins) and lots of sweetness on the nose, joined in the palate by some spices and orange peel this is a seriously drinkable dram.

If you get the chance to buy one do so, it will be a decision you won't regret.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

This is fabulous, the nose is lots and lots of fruit, pears (with the skin still on) in syrup, there's that dusty fruit skin note that almost goes fun age warehouse like and masses of juicy sweet pears in light syrup, hints of Chinese all spice and nutmeg and oak leaf sauce comes through also.

Palate

Tangy and spicy with spiced fruits of pears and sultanas, cinnamon and nutmeg, orange peel and lots of sweet pears still, gentle fruits in syrup yummy stuff

Finish

Spiced fruits and nutmeg, tasty stuff
