Deanston Virgin Oak Review

Deanston Virgin Oak Another dram that I've been hogging and sipping my way through before realising that I hadn't previously reviewed with this Deanston Virgin Oak. In fact this will actually be my firest review of an Own Bottling of Deanston which shocked me as I was sure i'd reviewed some in the past, and i will definitely be fixing that in the future.

I bought this a while back whilst at the distillery and have drank through most of this bottle before realising I hadn't reviewed on the site.

This is a seriously tasty dram there's a mix of gentle cask char notes from the virgin oak and once you get over the heat from the first sip it goes seriously fruity and gentle and is seriously drinkable.

A tasty dram that's very much worth the money and I'd happily recommend it to anyone looking for a tasty dram.

Available from specialists like Nickolls and Perks or Master of Malt.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

There's a hint of cask char first its almost a touch of smoke but not, then it becomes fruity with pears in light syrup and light floral gums and sweet sugar coated carnations.

Palate

Initially quite a lot of alcohol heat in here then tinned pears and peaches in light syrup with floral gums, wine gums and gentle cask char woodyness, seriously tasty stuff.

Finish

Sweet syrupy, hint of cask char and floral notes
