Port Askaig Harbour 19 Year Old Review

Port Askaig 19 Year Old Many thanks to my good friend Johnnie Stumbler (@johnniestumbler) from the Nosing Arse blog who kindly sent me a sample of this dram

Not long ago I reviewed the Port Askaig 100 Proof and really enjoyed it, it was after this that Johnnie offered to send me this sample as I had said I wanted to try more of this range.

Sweet on the nose tangy, strong, smokey, on the palate this is a cracking dram with lots of powerful notes that any peat head will happily enjoy.

Thanks again to johnnie (@johnniestumbler) for the sample.

Tasting Notes & Details

Chalky light smoke, I was expecting much more smoke in here but it's light and gentle with lemon and chalk, it's sweet with vanilla and mahogany wood notes and hints of furniture polish

Wow and there's the smoke, spicy cask char, heavy smoked wood notes, big over bbq'd meat charcoal notes. Not as sweet as the nose was, it's strong liquoricey and powerful

Long lasting smoke and spice
