Glenfarclas 2003 The W Club Exclusive Review

Glenfarclas 2003 The W Club Exclusive This 2003 vintage Glenfarclas was bottled exclusively for The Whisky Shop's W Club and this sample was passed to me by my good friend Ben Cops (@ben_cops) from Bens Whisky Blog.

Unfortunately sold out now online but you might be able to catch this in a local, store somewhere. A combination of two casks this is an intriguing dram and I'm looking forward to trying it.

This is very tasty stuff, I'm not normally a huge fan of sherried drams, this however really worked for me, it's youthful at around 9/10 years old but it just works really well and I really enjoyed this dram.

One of my favourite sherried drams in a long time, this is sold out online but you might find it in your local The Whisky Shop, worth trying if you can get one.

Thanks again to Ben (@ben_cops) for the sample.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

Oh this is yummy, at first is juicy foam bananas, then sweet caramelised figs, spiced orange peel, rich juicy plums and tinned pears in light syrup, Galaxy milk chocolate, some juicy raisins and hints of American cream soda.

Palate

Initial thoughts are sweet juicy finds in a slightly spicy toffee sauce, more of the foam bananas, the spice is like clove infused orange peel, then there's American cream soda, plums and more of that chocolate.

Finish

Tangy, sweet, dry and with figs.
