Aberfeldy 16 Year Old Review

Aberfeldy 16 Year Old This 16 year old Aberfeldy dram is the latest release from this highland distillery.

Aberfeldy drams normally have large honey sweet notes so I'm looking forward to trying this one.

Interesting dram this the nose is sweet orange blossom and honey, the palate much more woody and spicy, very drinkable although the mouthfeel is quite light and not the waxy oily that I would like.

Thanks to Aberfeldy for the official sample

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

And there it is that sweet honey note, more orange blossom honey, orange citrus peel and freshly squeezed orange juice, oak leaf sauce, tangy and tree sap.

Palate

Much more woody than the nose had led me to believe, there's a light honey note and more of that orange peel, but it's much more woody and bees waxy yummy though

Finish

Slight hints of woody spice, tangy and orangey
