Glenfarclas 25 Year Old Review

Glenfarclas 25 Year Old Day 1 of the Whisky Advent Calendar is this fabulous Glenfarclas 25 year old, a dram I haven't had before.

So the Whisky Advent Calendar was sent to me as a review product by the awesome Drinks By The Dram and I will be posting reviews daily on the drams I haven't had previously, I will be tweeting each day for the ones I've had before rather than re-reviewing and will have a cumulative post on the 24th December with all 24 reviews on it. I am running a day or two in advance to ensure i can post notes on the right day, but I won't be giving the game away at all.

Oh wow what a dram this is, massively sherried, but right up my street with its sweetness and fruitiness, hints of chocolate crop up on the palate and finish and the nose you could literally spend all day and night with your nose in the glass and not get bored.

Fabulous dram, utterly fabulous, you can get a bottle of this from Master of Malt

Thanks to Drinks by the Dram for the calendar and thus sample.

Tasting Notes & Details

This is the nose of a sherried dram, but one I like, there's sweet woody elements of fruits here, hints of woody Apple and sweet parsnip, dried fruits and sweet mincemeat, a floating hint of menthol and eucalyptus also, foxes glacier fruits too, the nose just keeps on changing and becoming more complex, plums and nectarines now too, delicious yummy stuff.

Delicious, there's an oaky note but it's more gentle oak leaf sauce and elements of oak sap, then lovely juicy fruits, plums, nectarines, tangerine, Christmas cake spices and clove pricked oranges, milk chocolate shavings in here too.

Dried fruits, Christmas cake spices and orange peel, with chocolate chips
