Glendronach Cask Strength Batch 5 Review

Glendronach Cask Strength Batch 5 I've been lucky enough to try the batch 2, batch 3 and batch 4 of the Glendronach Cask strength series previously and this batch 5 I was definitely looking forward to.

Always a dram full of flavour this batch I am hoping is no different.

So they've done it yet again and Glendronach have produced another damn drinkable cask strength dram that really works well, sweet and spicy, lots and lots of yummy notes in here, you really do need to try this.

Many thanks to Glendronach for the official sample.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

The first notes I get from this dram are freshly scraped vanilla and crunchy Bramley apples, underripe pears and oak leaf sauce with a splash of light syrup, a hint of toffee pennies in there also, light and gentle but worth the effort and time spent.

Palate

Sweet, stewed sweet apples and Bramley apples and lots of lovely spiced pear slices, butterscotch Angel delight and hints of peppered beef in the background

Finish

Sweets spicy and butterscotch
