Glenturret Sherry Edition Review

Glenturret Sherry Edition The new series of expressions from The Glenturret includes this Sherry Edition, I'm very intrigued by this, as the Glenturret was the first distillery I ever visited and back then they had a fabulous range of drams, up to and including the 25 year old which I loved.

This non age statement dram I'm hopeful of enjoying a lot, but wary of a little with the sherry cask involvement... But here goes anyway.

Oh this is lovely, that sweet side of sherried drams but without the harsh spices and rubbery notes that sometimes go with them. A really thick creamy palate almost angel delight like, thus is a delicious dram and makes me want to look for some of the older bottlings.

Cracking dram and one you should definitely look for, great value for money also at around £45 a bottle.

Thanks to The Glenturret for the official sample.

Tasting Notes & Details

A mix of light fresh vanilla and dried fruits, it's a very interesting nose that almost has hints of lactic notes, hints of spicy nutmeg and cinnamon and sweet Demerara sugar coated Christmas cake, maple syrup and caramel sauce.

Sweet gentle and spicy, there's a juicy sweet plums note with dried fruits, Christmas cake, molasses, vanilla butter cream sauce, creamy, and thick

Light fresh sweet vanilla, creamy thick juicy fruits, lovely stuff
