Mortlach / Gordon & MacPhail

Mortlach 15 Year Old (Gordon and MacPhail) Review

Mortlach 15 Year Old (Gordon and MacPhail) With the new range of Mortlach official bottlings failing to impress pretty much everyone when we seen this Gordon and MacPhail version it was a must try.

This is what Mortlach should be about, meaty, hints of smoke, chewy on the palate almost a meal in itself, hugely drinkable and very much the kind of dram i’d buy.

If you happen to see this available to buy, please let me know.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

initially malty notes then meaty, chewy and a hint of smoke, sweet chewy dark fruits and overtoasted white bread and whisky marmalade

Palate

very meaty, charcuterie, light smoke, more sweet chewy chocolate covered caramel peanuts, lovely and sweet and very drinkable.

Finish

sweet, meaty, smoky, wow
