Big Peat Christmas Edition 2015 (Douglas Laing) Review

Big Peat Christmas Edition 2015 (Douglas Laing) This is the fifth Christmas Edition of Big Peat, with the first being back in 2011. I've seriously enjoyed every single version of this dram, and I'm excited to be trying this one.

So it would appear that Douglas Laing have done it yet again and produced another fabulous higher ABV big peat just in time for Christmas.

If you like it smoky then this is a must buy for Christmas, it's also the one dram I wish was available all year round, but that I get excited about when it is released

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

This is big peat and it's obvious that lovely creamy, buttery smoke, cedar wood and vanilla angel delight, light hints of red fruits, then hints of lemon and lime peel waxiness, sour apples.

Palate

That buttery smoke is there again almost like a slightly vegetal buerre noisette, with waxy lemon and lime peel, crispy ice cream cone wafers and that hint off sourness

Finish

Creamy and waxy, juicy and mouthwatering
