Girvan / Douglas Laing

Girvan 25yr Old Particular (Douglas Laing) Review

Girvan 25yr Old Particular (Douglas Laing) I was lucky enough to try a number of Girvan drams not long ago so I was excited to try this bottling from Douglas Laing also.

This new range of single grains is right up my street, after the Clan Denny 9 Year Old Strathclyde I'm even more excited about the possibilities in this range also.

Filled with chocolatey orange bitter and citrus notes on the nose and a chocolate laced cappuccino on the palate this is seriously drinkable stuff and well worth sourcing a bottle of.

Thanks to Douglas Laing for the official sample.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

Really tangy orange zest, very bitter dark chocolate orange, quite a bready note which is lightly toasted, some creamy coffee also.

Palate

A chocolatey coffee, light though, almost cappuccino or macchiato, some melon and fresh kiwi

Finish

A little heat on the finish but still sweet
