BenRiach 1995 (Whisky Shop Exclusive) Review

Benriach Whisky Shop 1995 Sometimes you plan to taste whiskies, other times they just seem to work out. Popping into the Whisky Shop in Glasgows Buchanan Galleries and chatting about the Glenkeir Treasures range and how i'd love to see them bring out more and at a highter strength than the normal 40% (prefereably 46% or cask strength) and the wonderful staff member says "well i happen to have this which came in this morning".

It's ottled exclusively for The Whisky Shop and is a Benriach distilled in 1995 and bottled in 2012 (yup 17 years old) having spent time in some first fill ex-bourbon casks, and according to the guy in the shop, then finished in some virgin oak.

It's super sweet on both the nose and palatte and you would never know it was 53.1% as it's so smooth.

Definately one to pick up and if you're a W Club member you get 10% off. Pick it up from The Whisky Shop online or your local branch.
