Laphroaig 15 Year Old Review

Laphroaig 15 Year Old Laphroaig 15 was first created 30 years ago. Barrels were selected for their particularly mellow rounded flavour, then batch bottled at the higher export strength of 43% abv. The resulting flavour soon becoming a firm favourite winning many awards.

This is a soft subtle Laphroaig, lighter than expected but still full if flavour, allowing the underlying sweetness to come through, I really really like this.

Thanks to Laphroaig for the official sample.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

Sweet and chalky almost Edinburgh rock like but with less of the fruity flavours, buttery and creamy, the medicinal smoke is there but it's light and inoffensive, freshly scraped vanilla and oaky wood sap,

Palate

There's sweetness here but it's more lemongrass and sugar, more chalky sweets, creamy buttery notes, mixed spices, vanilla and lots of that medicinal sweet smoke, lovely.

Finish

Tangy medicinal sweetness with spices and drying
