Glen Garioch / Glen Garioch

Glen Garioch Founders Reserve Review

Glen Garioch Founders Reserve I've had this dram what feels like a hundred times in the past but I still continue to forget to write notes thinking I must have done them before, but alas not.

I've had this with Comte cheese a number of times and it's a great match of flavours, with the 48% abv it works really well.

Easily picked up in most Whisky Specialists such as Master of Malt

Thanks to Glen Garioch for the official sample

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

Initially these quite a lactic, cheesey, note here but in a good way, it's more strong mature cheddar, than blue cheese, then hints of fruits come through wrapped in Parma ham and prosciutto with a real meatiness,

Palate

Sweet vanilla and floral notes of lavender and carnations, mature cheddar, cured meats and a hint of vanilla, this is easy to drink and the flavours in the mouth shouldn't work together but do.

Finish

Sweet, floral, fruity, lactic, yum
