Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2007 (Rockside Farm) Review

Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2007 (Rockside Farm) The 2006 version of this dram was one of my favourite drams ever it was just so damned tasty so this was one I was really looking forward to trying.

This is right up my street, in fact I absolutely love this, sweet, floral, subtle but complex ... Why can't all whiskies be like this.

You can purchase from Master of Malt or directly from Bruichladdich

Thanks to Bruichladdich for the official sample

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

Sweet vanilla essence and a slight acetone note come through first then floral notes, chalky Edinburgh rock and those floral, gums again, digestive biscuit base vanilla cheesecake and a dash of lemongrass

Palate

This is so sweet and fruity, with juicy white fleshed fruits of honeydew melon and peach and nectarine, hints of spicy peppercorns but not enough to make it hot, sweet biscuity based cheesecake

Finish

Yummy, sweet, floral, biscuity
