Campbeltown Blended Malt (Wm Cadenhead) Review

Campbeltown Blended Malt (Wm Cadenhead) Back in January, the 10th of January to be precise, I was in Edinburgh with my gorgeous wife and we stopped off at the Cadenheads shop for a look. When in there i picked up a few goodies including this Campbeltown Blended malt 20cl bottled straight from their Living Cask in the shop.

No age statement given and the contents a secret, although likely all distilled at Springbank distillery there may also be some Glen Gyle or Glen Scotia contents in here, although unlikely.

This is a really lovely dram which is great value for money, lots of meaty, malty dirty, oily notes that i get with Springbank, it's almost the whisky equivalent of a meal (like Guiness is the meal equivalent with beer). Lots of seaside salty chip shop chips and a dose of dried fruits round this off nicely.

if you're passing one of the Cadenhead shops, drop in and grab some of this, you really won't regret it.

Tasting Notes & Details

Really malty, screen malt loaf and digestive biscuits, with a hint of used engine oil, fish stock and a wisp of coal chimney smoke, a touch of vanilla essence and a smattering of dried fruits round this off nicely

Oily, waxy, dirty engine oil and chalkyness, coal chimney smoke wrapping around salty chip shop battered fritters and a surprise hit of bitter green fruits

Salty chip shop chips and chalk covered fruits
