Benrinnes / Robert Graham

Benrinnes 1995 19yr Treasurer (Robert Graham) Review

Benrinnes 1995 19yr Treasurer (Robert Graham) I was lucky enough to have been invited along with my friends at EH10 Whisky Society (@EH10Whisky) to Robert Graham's (@WhiskyCanongate) Canongate store for an intimate tasting of some of their recent bottlings.

The third dram of the evening was this Benrinnes 20year old from the Robert Graham Treasurer range which is a range of single cask bottlings at cask strength with no added colouring and non chill filtered.

This is one of the first casks selected by Steve, who took over Robert Graham last year, and it's a fabulous start to his selections. With an abundance of sweetness throughout the dram, from the nose to the palate, this dram really worked for me and was my favourite of the evening, yes i think the sweetness was what won it for me.

if you like sweet drams go get one of these now, it really is brilliant.

You can buy this dram online from Robert Graham now.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

For me this opened with early morning wet dewy grass, like opening a tent in spring, then strong orchard fruits, pear especially, herby and leafy, touches or geranium, menthol and sugary sweetness

Palate

Sweet, really really sweet, sugary, buttery, old fashioned jars of sweets, sugar and chocolate coated fondant mice,

Finish

Super sweet, lovely wet grass, thorntons Viennese truffles
