Arran Machrie Moor Batch 1 Review

Arran Machrie Moor Batch 1 Tonights blog posts feature a couple of Peated whiskies, this first one being Arran Machrie Moor Batch 1, courtesy of a sample from David from Glenuntitled.com

This was a real surprise for me as I was expecting a heavily peated whisky and that's not what i've got here, it's a lovely dram but for me i would find it difficult to describe it truely as peated.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

Surprised at the lack of smoke on the nose more sweet grass, barley, summer fruits kiwi, melon and mango and a touch of oaky goodness too

Palate

like a good chinese sweet and sour sauce fruity but a little tarte, oak but no smoke at all, wood influence shines through

Finish

nice smooth finish still no smoke though
