Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Review

Woodford Reserve Double OakedThis is an interesting dram and I learned a lot more about Woodford Reserve whilst sampling this, first the casks are aged for a minimum of 8 years in limestone warehouses which add to the flavour of Woodford Reserve , then this particular dram is aged twice in new american oak barrels, but the second time is shorter and has a different toasting level, which is where the added vanilla hints of caramel come from.

This is actually very drinkable neat but would make a fabulous old fashioned with some orange bitters which would bring out the citrus notes in this dram.

Available now from The Whisky Exchange and coming soon in 1litre bottles to many Travel Retail markets.
