Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch 1 Review

Balvenie Tun 1509 One of the most successful releases from The Balvenie has been the Tun 1401 range which was not just a fabulous dram in it's own right but all 9 batches of it became highly saught after and collectable by those who like to collect and/or invest.

in 2014 however The Balvenie discontinued Tun 1401 and released batch 1 of the Tun 1509, this tun is four times the size of tun 1401 making the batches more sizeable but the quality of the whisky inside is just as good, with 7 European oak sherry butts and 35 American oak bourbon barrels allow to marry together for several months to produce this dram.

This really is a fabulous drinking dram, and it's a real shame that it has already gone the route of Tun 1401 and into the hands of collectors and investers as this should really be enjoyed rather than sit on a shelf. Commercially the collectibility is great news for The Balvenie but I do wish more people would enjoy these drams, they really are missing out.

Thanks to The Balvenie for the official sample.
