Chivas Regal 12 Year Old Review

Chivas Regal 12 Probably one of the most recognisable blends worldwide is the Chivas Regal 12 Year Old, I've always found it to be a damn good dram and one i really enjoy drinking.

As comfortable sipping on it's own as I am with it in cocktails or long drinks this is a cracking dram. It's usually classed as a premium blend and with the base malt being Strathisla it's no surprise why.

Available pretty much everywhere including specialists like The Whisky Exchange

Thanks to Chivas Regal for the generous official sample.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

the nose is sweet, deliciously sweet, it’s runny honey and sweet soft pouring caramel, there’s fruits in here too, mainly orchard fruits but hints of raisins and figs too

Palate

More of that delicious runny honey covering some gorgeous soft tinned pears in light syrup, with a spoonful of nutella hazelnut chocolate spread on top

Finish

chocolate hazelnut spread and syrup
