Chivas Regal Extra (Travel Retail) Review

Chivas Regal Extra This latest addition to the Travel Retail range from Chivas Regal is the Chivas Regal Extra, with more ex-sherry cask influence and a higher proportion of rarer malts this dram is aiming to take on the premium blends and winning.

There's some fabulous light fruits in here (melon, white grape) and lots of richer more rounded notes also, it's a great dram and expected price of around £50 great value too. I really did prefer this to the Chivas Regal 18 Year Old.

Recently winning Gold for the Under 15 year old (it's a NAS bottling so this is a clue) category in a recent awards this is definitely one to look out for when you're next in an airport.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

Light and fresh with floral gums and hints of fresh flowers, fresh cut grass and hints of light watery fruits.

Palate

much more balanced than a lot of the other Chivas range, rounder, richer but not more Christmas cakey, light watery fruits (kiwi, melon, grape) sweet fresh flowers with carnations especially.

Finish

Sweet white grape and floral gums
