Glenmorangie / Glenmorangie

Glenmorangie Lasanta (43% ABV version) Review

GlenmorangieIn late 2014 Glenmorangie released began to release this lower ABV version of the Lasanta, which previously was at 46% ABV. The price has remained fairly stable but the ABV has dropped, possibily related to the increasing cost in ex-sherry casks(?)

Compared to the previous Lasanta and the Sherry Wood Finish this has much more ex-bourbon feel, and has lost any of that struck match that some didn't like of the previous Lasanta. I think i prefer this version, which is still matured in ex-bourbon for 10 years before a 2 year finish in ex-sherry as the sherry influence isn't as strong as it was in the previous versions.

Whether those who loved the previous sherry hit from Lasanta will continue to love this one I don't know.
