Dalwhinnie Friends of the Classic Malts 2013 Review

Dalwhinnie FOCMOn a recent post I mentioned a number of distilleries I had yet to review on this blog and Johnnie (@JohnnieStumbler) kindly offered to send me some samples for some of them to try including this Dalwhinnie Friends of the Classic Malts bottling.

Only available to to buy at the distillery or selected partners for those who are Friends of the Classic Malts this is triple matured in a succession of classic distillery casks, ex-bodega casks, and refill European Oak. The results for me are a mix of oaky, woody notes and some lovely peach/nectarine fruity notes which is actually very nice, theres also a hint of menthol on the palate and finish which adds an extra element.

You can buy from the distillery of the official store at Alexander and James

Thanks again to Johnnie (@JohnnieStumbler) for the sample you can check out his blog at The Nosing Arse.
