Crown Royal Canadian Whisky Review

Crown RoyalI received this Crown Royal sample from Joe (@whiskytube) who you can watch his review videos on Youtube here and I'm really quite unsure of it.

Throughout all my adult life i've always been a Scotch drinker and although i would take a Jack and Coke occasionally in my younger days it really didn't fit with me, it's still the same now where i find i'm much happer with a single malt scotch (or similar - think Japanese) than I am with grain, bourbon, canadian, rye etc.

I tend to find these whiskies don't really match my palate and arent really for me, i can appreciate the flavours in many but i just am not keen on them. I have a bundle of US and Canadian whiskies to review and i keep putting them off at the moment due to this as I don't want my experiences, and i've tried a few now, to be this way.

Any hints or tips from others about this would be most welcome.

In the meantime thanks again to Joe (@whiskytube) for the sample and you can pick this up reasonably priced from The Whisky Exchange

Tasting Notes & Details

has that note that i associate as Rye, it's quite sweet and cereal based with there's a bit of prickly alcohol mixed with weetabix, there's golden syrup and a touch of treacle scones

the rye note is there again with edges of brown bread toast and cereal, touches of weetabix

has a bit of a spike of alcohol with touches of spice.
