Glenfiddich 125 Anniversary Review

Glenfiddich 125This is an interesting one as i've tasted this a few times at work but never been able to buy a bottle so when Barry (@thewhiskyphiles) from The Whisky Philes blog was doing a bottle share i couldn't say no to it.

Bottled to celebrate the 125th Anniversary of the distillery and unusually for Glenfiddich, it's peated, it's an odd ball that really works.

Smoke and that trademark sweetness from Glenfiddich really work well together and i really enjoyed this dram.

I only know of a couple of World of Whiskies who still have one or two of these going otherwise it's silly season at auction.

Sweet and smoky would be a good description here there's some sweet notes of fruit and porridge with some gentle earthy fireside smoke and hints of chalk, almost edinburgh rock like

Sweet and gentle melon and soft watery fruits with chalky and gentle smoky earthy notes with a slight prickle of sweet chilli sauce

Finish

Sweet chili sauce and smoky cedarwood
