SMWS 37.56 Sweet Tart and Spicy Review

The Scotch Malt Whisky SocietyAlways loving trying a The Scotch Malt Whisky Society whisky thats from a distillery that i haven't tried single cask whisky from so this 37.56 Sweet Tart and Spicy was a welcome treat.

On the bar at Queen Street as malt of the moment this 11 year old really did surprise me with how sweet and fruity it was, with candied citrus fruits adding to the flavours here too. I really enjoy one or two of the distillery OB's but find them lacking in character, this dram makes up for that and really shows why Single Cask Single Malt at Cask Strength is the way to go.

If you are a whisky fan you really should consider joining The Scotch Malt Whisky Society.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

There's a huge amount of sweetness on the nose with fresh fruity sweetness not sugary or artificial sweetness with hints of clove like spices, those candy oranges and lemons with clove sprinkles

Palate

Sweet and a touch floral with vanilla essence and Demerara sugar and mixed summer fruits of strawberries and oranges

Finish

Sweet sugary yum
