Balblair / Balblair

Balblair 2002 (Preview) Review

This is the first of a couple of reviews of Balblair Whisky after taking part in a Tweet Tasting organised by Alembic Comms who are doing a grand job promoting both Whisky and Beer in Scotland.

This first sample, which we only discovered after trying it as it was marked simply Sample A is a 2002 release, it has yet to be bottled and is an exclusive preview, a real priviledge to have tried this.

My tasting notes are shown below.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

fruity, definite apples/pears or woody fruit, slight acetone and some floral gums and grass in the background

Palate

oaky and sweet pears with floral gums again

Finish

oaky and slightly spicy
