Balblair 2000 Single Cask #0191 Review

Cask 1350 Part of a Balblair tweet tasting this 2000 vintage cask 0191 is from a cask that previously held a peated islay whisky..

I didnt get as much smoke as others did, its more malty to me but this is still lovely and sweet too.

Thanks again to Balbair for the opportunity to taste these not yet and maybe not to be released drams.

Tasting Notes & Details

My first thoughts were hints of mature cheddar cheese with tomato plant leaves & hints of fruits of fig, mango skin and dragon fruit with hints of malt loaf and almost some smoked fish

This grows and grows on the palate from gentle fruity to smoky malty seafood and definite wood spice

Spicy and woody
