Longmorn / Scotch Malt Whisky Society

SMWS 7.83 Fresh, airy and sherbety Review

The Scotch Malt Whisky Society Another cracker of a dram this The Scotch Malt Whisky Society 7.83 Fresh, airy and sherbety is sweet fruity and spicy and acidic enough to please any palate.

Received as part of the Whisky For a Year that i'm involved in this is a great example of a aged dram from this distillery and of single cask nature as it's not got that sickly sweetness you would expect from a distillery bottling.

Another example of why joining The Scotch Malt Whisky Society is a great idea.

Sweet light and fresh, definitely some light fruity notes of honeydew melon and bitter lemons, something sugary, candy floss, caramelised sugar, along with that acidic note from sherbet dib dabs

Palate

sweet fresh crunchy apples with hints of spice and acidic sherbert, theres even a slight hint of barley sugar sweets swilling around in here.

Finish

acidic sherbert and barley sugar.
