Speyburn / Douglas Laing

Speyburn 7 Year Old Provenance (Douglas Laing) Review

Speyburn 7 year old ProvencanceThis is a cracking little dram, a Speyburn 7 Year Old Provenance bottling from Douglas Laing that rocks out with loads of honey, christmas cake and fruity notes.

I've not had a lot of Speyburn in the past although i do have a number of samples from friends that i will now be getting to after trying this delicious little dram.

Unfortunately sold out in most place for the 70cl you can still grab a sample from Master of Malt.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

The nose here starts off very sweet with lots of sweet and delicious manuka honey and almost Christmas cake like notes of demerera sugar, mixed spice, raisins and sultanas then comes along a hint of yummy cadburys fruit & Nut chocolate

Palate

very very fruity, raisins, prunes, fresh plums with hints of a dry oloroso sherry

Finish

Quite dry on the finish but still that sweet note
