Douglas Laing / Douglas Laing

Syndicate 58/6 12 Year Old Review

Syndicate 58/6 12 Year Old This Syndicate 58/6 12 Year Old was tasted back in April 2014 on a visit to Douglas Laing HQ in Glasgow.

A very unusual and interesting dram this one which I'd never heard of before. Douglas Laing only distribute this worldwide, they do not do the blending etc, but this is a damn nice whisky.

You can find more information on this blend from the Syndicate 58/6 website

Thanks again to Douglas Laing for having us over at their HQ and to Jan (@whiskyjan) for taking us through the whiskies.

A big sherry influence comes in first with lots of crushed mixed nuts and christmas cake like dired fruits and demerera sugar, theres also a lovely underlying maltiness that rounds this off nicely.

Palate

Sweet and spicy with hints of demerera sugar and lots and lots of freshly crushed mixed nuts
