New Zealand Whisky Collection Dunedin Doublewood Review

New Zealand Whisky COllection Dunedin DoublewoodA really interesting colour on this New Zealand Whisky Collection Dunedin Doublewood which is vibrant and almost quite pink in colour almost like some of the port matured whiskies.

Matured in ex bourbon then in ex New Zealand oak wine cass this is a real firecracker of a dram, lots of lovely appley notes and lots of flavour.

You can pick up a bottle over at Master of Malt to try for yourself.

Many thanks to Erik (@thewhiskykiwi) the UK ambassador for sorting out samples of this New Zealand Whisky Collection dram.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

Interesting nose on this one, it's almost caramalised warm bramley apples with a dripping of caramel sauce, lots of oakiness coming through also and a hint of chinese allspice, really draws you in.

Palate

quite almondy on the nose with oak coming through strong and more of the caramalised bramley apples, theres also a lick of pine (like the car air freshner) there too

Finish

gentle oak and apple, hints of cloves.
