Midleton Master Distillers Edition The Housewarming Review

Midleton Master Distillers Edition The Housewarming A while back i was lucky enough to receive a bottle of Midleton Master Distillers Edition The Housewarming which I have given samples of to lots of my whisky friends and although i tried this a while back the notes have been sitting in my to do pile since.

Relating to the Distillers Barry Crockett and his replacement Brian Nation this limited run of 500 50cl bottles was specifically for a "house warming" event at the distillery.

The casks chosen by both Barry and Brian were combined to make this beauty of a dram.

Many thanks to Midleton/Irish Distillers for the official bottling.

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

the nose is a mix of lovely "green" notes of freshly cut grass, young green tree branches (which we all remember breaking as a kid) and a dose of quality street golden penny caramel chews, there's a hint of acetone on the end along with some bitter lemon but mainly it's just super fresh.

Palate

caramel and early morning dew mix with a hint of chinese 5 spice and a touch of vanilla essence

Finish

creamy, oily and caramel, yum
