It's always a disappointment whn you can't do something and at the moment my biggest disappointment is that due to work and college I'm not able to make it to this years Feis Ile.
The Islay Festival of Malt and Music (Feis ile) is an annual eight day festival, taking place this year between 28th May and 3rd June. Each distillery plays host for a day, offering its finest drams, exclusive bottlings, food and music to lucky malt fans. Ardbeg Day is the 2nd June, and this year they are taking the festival to their Embassies making it possible for dedicated Ardbeggians to join the fun without having to cram onto that heavenly little lump of peat called the Isle of Islay.
One of the Embassies is Royal Mile Whiskies on the High Street in Edinburgh who will have a lucky 48 bottles of the Ardbeg Feis Ile bottling for sale, there are some conditions attached to getting the bottling, mainly that you need to be in the queue nice and early when the shop opens and that you need to buy another Ardbeg standard bottling at the same time, this is to ensure it's only genuine Ardbeg drinkers buying the bottles and not people simply looking to profiteer from the sale of the bottle.
So if you're a lover of Ardbeg and in Edinburgh on Saturday why not make you're way along to Royal Mile Whiskies, as even if you don't manage to get a Feis Ile bottle, they do have a large bottle and are giving out samples so you can still try it.
