It's about time i spent more time with the camera out, its been locked in my camera bag for too long now so when the coolest ever packaging i've seen for a couple of whisky samples arrived today i thought it would be ideal to test it out again on these.
And what was this? well it's some samples of Old Ballantruan, A peated style whisky produced at Tomintoul distillery and they're for the upcoming Twitter Tasting organised by Steve Rush (@TheWhiskyWire) of The Whisky Wire.
We will be sampling Old Ballantruan followed by the new 10yr Old Ballantruan which is to be released in the UK on 8th October 2012.
The Twitter Tasting will take place on the 10th October and you can follow all the action by searching for #OB10TT on twitter
I'm really looking forward to this tweet tasting and my experiences thus far with peated Speysiders have been very positive so i cant wait for this. If you're joining in i look forward to chatting with you and if not it would be good to follow along. Please also remember to check out Steve's site and register for any future tweet tastings.
The samples arrived in some very cool packaging, with a really well presented box containing not only the usual bubble wrap and samples but a little scroll of information about the twitter tasting, a leaflet about the whiskies and a whole bundle of hay to keep it all protected.
I really couldn't resist digging out my camera instead of using the usual camera phone and i'm really glad i did, a coupel of the images are below.
