Jameson Tweet Tasting Review

Jameson Rarest VintageWhat better day of the year than St Patricks Day to be part of a Twitter Tasting held by Steve Rush (@thewhiskywire) from The Whisky Wire, he unfortuanately took unwell just before it and we would like to wish him a full and speedy recovery and thanks to Alwynne (@themisswhisky) from Miss Whisky who stepped in to Steve's considerable shoes for the evening.

A damn fine selection of drams with the the Select Reserve and the Rarest Vintage Reserve really setting the bar high for me. Irish Whisky is not something i normally go for but i need to spent more time hunting out for sure.

Try The Whisky Exchange for these and other cracking drams.

instantly cherries, deep dark Turkish cherries with creaminess surrounding like a Black Forrest Gateaux plum jam and demerera sugar join in the mix with a splash of maple syrup and pine needles

Palate

sweet plums with demerera sugar and a dash of maple syrup, more creamy/oily ness too, cold custard and victoria sponge

Finish

sweet plums and sugar, yummy

This is mch more floral and grassy than the first couple of drams, even a slight hint of smoke

Pick up a bottle from The Whisky Exchange and try for yourself

Tasting Notes & Details

Nose

tropical fruit, mango, papaya, pineapple all in a pie with undercooked doughy pastry with some dried cereal notes of alpen and granola with a helping of butterscotch angel delight.

Palate

fruity, more honeydew melon and kiwi than the tropical fruits from the nose but that butterscotch note still there

Finish

butterscotch angel delight and fruit
