Edinburgh Gin ™ has introduced yet another new flavour to its host of innovative gins which is inspired by the taste of Christmas. The limited edition gin is infused with the traditional festive spices of frankincense, myrrh and nutmeg, giving it a unique and intriguing taste.
The new gin, which is the only one of its kind, was developed at the Edinburgh Gin distillery in partnership with Heriot-Watt University School of Distilling with which Edinburgh Gin has a partnership with. The inimitable new flavour makes for an ideal gift, or indeed, the perfect beverage to celebrate the festive season with.
Alex Nicol, managing director of Spencerfield Spirit who own Edinburgh Gin, said: “This is a bold move for us but we think it perfectly represents our innovative distilling and unique ideas for flavouring. We use award winning original Edinburgh Gin and infuse it with the tastes of frankincense, myrrh and nutmeg which really bring the Christmas spirit to life“.
He continued: “As it is the season of good will, we will also be making a donation to St Columba's Hospice using the proceeds raised by our Christmas Gin. This is a fantastic cause and we always like to give something back where possible”.
There have only been 200 cases of the gin made which includes six bottles per case, giving it a sense of exclusivity. The new flavour will be available from the Edinburgh Gin Distillery, Vino and Royal Mile Whiskies, RRP £35.00 for a 70cl bottle.
Edinburgh Gin’s new distillery is located beneath the Rutland Hotel at Edinburgh’s west end. Handcrafted in small batches with the finest Scottish juniper berries, pine, heather and nine other carefully selected botanicals, the unique and distinctive gins are bottled in Edinburgh at 43% ABV.
