New Release / Cotswolds Dry Gin Inaugural Release

17/11/2014 Cotswolds Dry Gin Inaugural Release

Cotswolds GinOver the past couple of weeks The Cotswolds Distillery has begun distilling, bottling and selling their Cotswolds Dry Gin; a traditional London dry style with a Cotswolds twist.

The distilling team fired up their Holstein still to create their Cotswolds Dry Gin Inaugural Release. With a delectable blend of nine carefully-considered botanicals, the expression of the traditional London dry style comes from the 12 hour maceration into pure wheat spirit of juniper, coriander and angelica root. The unique botanical mix of Cotswolds lavender and bay leaf, fresh grapefruit peel, fresh lime peel, black pepper and cardamom seed is then added into the carter head still for distillation before finishing with naturally refined Cotswolds water. The result is a classic well-balanced juniper-led gin with crisp citrus and spice.

This gin is delicious on its own, over ice. It’s robust enough to stand up to tonic and smooth enough to craft the ultimate gin martini. The distillery had its first bottling run last week and has since been taking orders, both online and via through their trade contacts. They have already seen substantial orders from the Cotswolds area and have had a number of high-end department stores, online retailers and independent spirits merchants interested, including Fortnum and Mason who featured the Cotswolds Dry Gin Inaugural Release as their Gin of the Month for October.

Dan Szor comments, “We are incredibly proud to have been picked up by Fortnum’s. We worked very hard to create an excellent quality, small-batch gin that reflected the true provenance and food heritage of the Cotswolds and it means the world to us to have been recognised by a true British institution such as F&M.”

The Inaugural Release (46% abv.) will be available from Fortnum and Mason (from October) with an RRP from £34.95. Other stockists will include quality wines and spirits merchants and online at and
