Park Royal London based distillers Bimber are nearing the vital three year mark to call their spirit whisky. This will happen around June 2019 and they already have a number of products available to preorder from their distillery online shop
Bimber, a distillery many will not yet have heard of, was set up in Park Royal in London in 2015, they began with some Vodka in early 2016 before going on to make single malt spirit later in the year in their two alembic stills (Doris & Astraea).
Looking at the label this dram combines a lot of my favourite things. There is the act is was bottled by the awesome Douglas Laing and Co, the fact it was matured in an ex port hogshead and then there is the fact it is a Port Charlotte heavily peated dram from Bruichladdich distillery.
Back in 2016 as part of my Douglas Laing and Co Fellows membership I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to write the tasting notes that go on the bottle and this was for a 2002 14 year old Blair Athol.
Glencadam is another of the distilleries i need to spend more time with, I have tried a lot of the range but at times when taking notes was anything but the best option, I do not think it is fair to do notes at certain times without giving the whisky all of your attention.
