So lets just take a minute to look at the age statement on this dram, 50, yes 50, year old blended grain from the wizards of whisky at That Boutique-y Whisky Company, and batch 2 of it, at that.
I've had a good sniff at this dram a good number of times whilst at the other side of the table at events with Dave, but i've not had a sample of it until today.
So this is a dram that intrigues me as an Irish Single Malt Whiskey is not something i have had a great deal of, as much of what is produced there is single pot still not single malt.
I have been lucky enough to try a great number of whiskies and whiskeys over the years and I am always happy to see some interesting Irish whiskeys as i tend to enjoy their generally lighter notes, reminiscent of Lowland Scotch.
This was sampled as the second dram in the #TastesBoutiquey Twitter Tasting sampling some of the whiskies in the That Boutique-y Whisky Company Advent Calendar and 12 Days of Christmas Advert Calendar.
