Whilst typing out the rest of the single grain reviews i remembered i had yet to post to my notes from trying this dram at SMWS London
This single cask Single grain whisky was tasted as part of The Scotch Malt Whisky Society's Grain Week
Thanks to Dave (@whiskydiscovery) from the Whisky Discovery blog for this sample of The Scotch Malt Whisky Society G10.5 A Schweppervescence Moment, a sample i've had in the house for a while now.
This dram is a sister cask to the Mystery Single Grain that i tried at Douglas Laing a couple of years back.
I tasted this Strathclyde 13yr Cask Strength Edition whilst at the Morning Masterclass at The Scotch Whisky Experience in March 2016.
I'm still getting through my backlog of samples and this Strathclyde 1973 Cask 74061 from Duncan Taylor sample came from Adrian (@mynameisgone) from Whisky Chronicle blog.
If i was pushed i'd always say i preferred Malt whisky to Grain whisky and ex Bourbon to Ex Sherry but this dram has changed that for me.
This new range of single grains is right up my street, after the Clan Denny 9 Year Old Strathclyde I'm even more excited about the possibilities in this range as that dram is one of my all time top dr
