Another cracker of a single cask dram from That Boutiqu-y Whisky Company this time its Arran Batch 1
This Arran dram was part of one of the Christmas Crackers that I was sent by Maverick Drinks.
This is the day 11 dram from my Whisky Advent Calendar, and the third time I've tried a That Boutique-y Whisky Company Arran batch after previously having batch 1 and batch 3.
This was sampled as the third dram in the #TastesBoutiquey Twitter Tasting sampling some of the whiskies in the That Boutique-y Whisky Company Advent Calendar and 12 Days of Christmas Advert Calendar.
The mad scientists at That Boutique-y Whisky Company have done it again and come up with yet another cracker of a dram in the form of this Ayrshire Batch 1.

So lets just take a minute to look at the age statement on this dram, 50, yes 50, year old blended grain from the wizards of whisky at That Boutique-y Whisky Company, and batch 2 of it, at that.
I've had a good sniff at this dram a good number of times whilst at the other side of the table at events with Dave, but i've not had a sample of it until today.
This lovely is from Bowmore, the label features the distillery of Bowmore.
A very old grain whisky from a distillery that closed in 1983, would i like to try it... errrr yes please.
Sometimes there's a dram that comes along that you know just is not for you, and this English Whisky Company 5yr Batch 1 from That Boutiquey Whisky Company is one of them.
Always interesting to try some drams that i haven't much exposure to so it's always good to try them.
Glenlivet is many peoples first dram, and from memory the 2016 best selling single malt whisky in the world, taking over from Glenfiddich for the first time, and it deserves the accolades it gets.
Another first time distillery for me as i try the Inchmurrin Batch 1 from That Boutique-y Whisky Company.

So the That Boutiquey Whisky Company drams now all have age statements so let's start by giving this Invergordon 42 year a whirl.
I've had the pleasure of a number of drams of invergordon from That Boutique-y Whisky Company and they have always been good, old grain generally is, and i'm really looking forward to sipping on this one.
So this is a dram that intrigues me as an Irish Single Malt Whiskey is not something i have had a great deal of, as much of what is produced there is single pot still not single malt.
I have been lucky enough to try a great number of whiskies and whiskeys over the years and I am always happy to see some interesting Irish whiskeys as i tend to enjoy their generally lighter notes, reminiscent of Lowland Scotch.
I've not spent anywhere near enough time exploring world whisky, with rye, bourbon, canadian whiskies, irish whiskies, japanese whiskies, indian whiskies and many many more out there its a difficult task to wander around them all, especially with the amount of brilliant whisky on my doorstep here in Scotland.
