Another brilliant choice from the new range of single cask single malt whiskies from the Douglas Laing's Provenance range.

With Tom out in Dublin and both of us invited to take part in the Douglas Laing #TasteTheRegions Twitter Tasting I stepped up to do some notes and that is where i tried this Benrinnes 2004 11yr Provenance.
Benrinnes is pretty much one of my bogey distilleries having absolutely hated this dram which pretty much put me off sherried whiskies entirely.
If you like your whisky smoky, barbecued or even BBQ'd and full of intensity then Big Peat by Douglas Laing is a cracking choice for you.
Big Peat, as anyone who knows me, is a huge favourite in my whisky collection and when a 25 year old version is available well thats just even more exciting.
I managed to miss this dram but luckily my good friend Steve (@steveprentice) from Somerset Whisky Blog had a bottle and sent me a dram of it.
I was lucky enough to sample this Christmas Cask Strength edition of Big Peat at this years Whisky fringe and really enjoyed it.
I loved this dram so much when it came out that i bought 2 bottles and still have around 1/2 a bottle left.
Big Peat from Douglas Laing is a really well known Islay blended malt which has now been releasing an annual Christmas Limited run for a few years and this is the 2014 version.
This is the fifth Christmas Edition of Big Peat, with the first being back in 2011. I've seriously enjoyed every single version of this dram, and I'm excited to be trying this one.
What is good reviewing a big flavoured whisky is with one sip you can sit back and get so many flavours, notes, memories, thoughts and ideas.
Big Peat releases a cask strength edition every year as their limited edition Christmas Edition, since 2011 and this 2017 is totally on my radar.
Seeing releases of Remarkable Regional malts from Douglas Laing always makes me happy and when it's Big Peat i'm even happier, i love the creamy smoke that comes with it.
Big Peat, the unique Small Batch Islay Blended Malt Whisky from Douglas Laing & Co, launched a new limited edition bottling earlier this month.
Another cracker of a dram from Douglas Laing was kindly given to Livingston Whisky Club to be used in a tasting night,
Back in 2016 as part of my Douglas Laing and Co Fellows membership I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to write the tasting notes that go on the bottle and this was for a 2002 14 year old Blair Athol.
Way back in March when this dram was announced i was really excited, as Douglas Lain really do produce some damn great drams, but i somehow managed to refrain from tying this until very recently.
