Ardmore 14yr (Cadenheads)
A small batch bottling from Wm Cadenhead of the mighty Auchentoshan, well i couldn't walk past that could I.
I'm still getting through my backlog of samples and this Bowmore 16yr Wine Cask from Cadenhead’s sample came from Matt (@mattveira) from Guildford Whisky blog.
A small batch, 3 hogsheads, Cadenheads Bruichladdich matured for 24 yearsis the kind of dram that is right up my street.
A small batch, single cask, Cadenheads Bunnahabhain from 1999 matured for 16 years in a sherry butt, this sounds really interesting and equally scary.
Many thanks to JJ from Whisky Rover who gave me a very generous sample of this cracking blended whisky.
If you are ever lucky enough to vist any of the Cadenheads shops, especially those in either Edinburgh or Campbeltown (which are the only two i have been in) you will be presented with an array of casks that you can bottle some drams, and other spirits from.
Nothing beats having a lovely rare bottle and this is certainly one its a Cameronbridge 19 year old single cask grain whisky bottled by Cadenheads and this was a 20cl cask end from it.
Back in January, the 10th of January to be precise, I was in Edinburgh with my gorgeous wife and we stopped off at the Cadenheads shop for a look.
I picked up a 200ml bottle of this at the Cadenheads Shop in Edinburgh for the Livingston Whisky Club night, and just totally loved it.
This is another of those drams that arrived as a sample from a friend who i regularly swap samples with, and an interesting one it is too.
I was having a bit of a grump at the weekend about the fact that we don't seem to get many independent bottlings of distilleries like Glenkinchie when it reminded me I had 100ml of this from a fairly recent bottle share still to crack into so it was time to hunt it out.
There's no secret at all about the fact I'm a huge fan of Jura so I was really excited when Barry (@thewhiskyphiles) from The Whiskyphiles dropped of this sample.
It's no secret i'm a bit of a fanboy of Jura whiskies, so when i heard about this dram I ran to my local Cadenheads shop and put my name straight on the list ... in 7th place.
I'm quite lucky to have a number of good friends who spend a lot of time in and around whisky, and we all tend to share our wares a little so when my good friend and colleague Ben Kaylor and I were sharing a few drams he brought this Old Pulteney 1990 21yr (Wm Cadenheads) .
200ml Cask End bottles from Cadenheads are usually always a bit interesting and this is definitely "interesting" it's a Potters Distilling Co 11 year old, which has caused a bit of disagreement as to
Being from Livingston my local distillery is the Linlithgow (or St Magdalene’s) distillery which is around 10 miles from the house, mothballed in 1983 and converted to some luxury flats this distillery is one which I would like to spend more time exploring but the cost of the bottles is now quite prohibitive.
Thanks to Ben (@ben_cops) from Bens Whisky blog for spotting this 19 year old Tomatin from Cadenhead's which we split and sent our friend Steve (@steveprentice) a wee dram of.
