This 2000 vintage 14 year old Arran from cask #2000/1106 is exclusive to The Whisky Exchange. I'm a big fan of Arran drams which usually give them a mix of sweetness and something older, usually either tweed like or a bit dusty.
This recently announced The Dalmore 21 is initially matured in American white oak and finessed in hand-selected first-fill Matusalem oloroso sherry butts from the Gonzalez Byass bodega in Jerez de la Frontera.
I've deliberately decided not to read much about this whisky before trying it, there's always something intriguing about Compass Box whiskies and I've never had one I haven't enjoyed, here's hoping this is no different.

A Single Grain whisky from Douglas Laing now thats always going to be something that will intrigue me, the fact it's a 21 Year old from North British even more.
I'm becoming more and more a fan of The Scotch Malt Whisky Society bottlings from this distillery
I've had this The Scotch Malt Whisky Society bottling, and others, in the house for a while now and keep meaning to get round to them, work and life has gotten in the way of my drinking.
I really enjoyed the original Green Spot but this wine matured version really did intrigue me so I was really excited when this sample arrived.
Like the wave-washed granite walls of the Laphroaig distillery this extremely rare and unique expression has a rounded character.
This limited edition Laphroaig was distilled throughout 1993 and matured in various cask types to give it greater colour, more intense vanilla and subtle spice notes.
The Laphroaig Cairdeas is the annual release for Feis Ile and this particular bottling celebrated the 200th anniversary of the distillery,
Laphroaig 15 was first created 30 years ago. Barrels were selected for their particularly mellow rounded flavour, then batch bottled at the higher export strength of 43% abv.
