Darnleys View Gin
Welcome to Day 12 of #GinMonth as I review Darnleys View Gin.
Created by the extremely talented folks over at Wemyss Malts this is a lovely creamy and fresh Gin that doesn't suffer from the same sour citrus notes that a lot of other gins have, it's very easy to drink straight, with just a hint of mild white pepper, and very easy to drink with Tonic.
Go try one, pop on over to Master of Malt and pick one up now.
Thanks to the wonderful folks at Wemyss Malts / Darnleys View for the very generous review sample
There are some cracking cocktail videos using Darnleys View on their Youtube channel (click here) which i would highly recommend you try
(straight) Quite fresh and creamy, definite notes of lovely juniper and fresh mint with a very gentle amount of white pepper lurking in the background
(with tonic) All the nose is tamed down but it's still got that creaminess, very much cream soda with fresh garden herbs coming through also
(straight) soft and creamy, almost american cream soda like, with juniper, corriander and a hint of pepper again
(with tonic) touches of sweetness from the cream soda, some citrus coming through also but still herby and junipery although the pepper has gone completely.
(straight) grows stronger and more peppery
(with tonic) the pepper has gone replaced with sweet cream soda and menthol
