SMWS 132.2 Stunning Panoramio of Exotic Fruits
When the The Scotch Malt Whisky Society decide to bottle some Japanese distilleries that they hadn't previously they certainly didn't muck about and do it by half, this SMWS 132.2 Stunning Panoramio of Exotic Fruits is exactly the right use of the word Stunning.
This comes from the first batch of bottle shares from a group of twitter mad whisky bloggers and friends and there will be a whole bundle more this year.
This is genuinely the best nose i've had on a whisky in a long time, i couldn't stop sniffing it, it's also worth every single penny.
I can't say it enough, if you're not a member of the The Scotch Malt Whisky Society then why not? you really should just go join now.
Oh my goodness this is lovely, there's definitely fruity sherry notes in here along with crushed brasil nuts and pledge furniture polish, there's some lovely chewy beef jerky in here and some lavender oil and fresh violets also and a hint of honey.
Gentle oaky woodyness with beeswax furniture polish and hints of orange citrus peel, followed by a heat and gentle oriental spicyness.
long, very very long and so so deliciously orangey and oaky
