SMWS 31.20 - Cornish Pastie and Plaster-board
Part of a short series of The Scotch Malt Whisky Society bottlings from the last year or so this is 31.20 which was sent to me a sample from my good friend Joe (@whiskywingsuit) at the SMWS venue in London.
Anyone who knows me, and the SMWS numbers, will know this is from my favourite distillery and with The Scotch Malt Whisky Society bottling name of Cornish Pastie and Plaster-board this 21 year old cracker is right up my street.
Once again thanks to (@whiskywingsuit) for the sample and remember to go to The Scotch Malt Whisky Society sign up and become a member.
initial notes of toffee popcorn and american candy corn intersperse with a chalk like smoke thats like a peat smoke flavoured edinburgh rock, it's a very sweet nose and that has a slight touch of peat smoke. left in the glass the sweeter notes come out more and the toffee becomes more prominent.
sweet and toffeed again then chalky like edinburgh rock with gentle peat smoke and a touch of crushed black pepper.
black better, chalk and toffee popcorn
