Tomintoul 21 Year Old
Tasted as part of a Twitter Tasting organised by Tomintoul where the the 21 Year Old and Vintage 1981 were tasted by a group of whisky lovers from all around the world.
I've had a good number of expressions from Tomintoul now (reviews here) and been hugely impressed with the quality.
This 21 year old is a cracker of a dram and at a very reasonable price at under £52 from Master of Malt
slightly oaky to start with then fruit and fizz, refreshers/wham bars, fresh vanilla pods rolled in dewy grass, some malt loaf and a touch of pear cider and manuka honey
oh thats a lovely dram, mixed fruit salad and vanilla sugar with cloves and some oak and a touch of dark chocolate cocoa powder
a touch of toffee and a gentle wash of spice
